Sure it isn't a rocket ship like a 3.8 but it depends on what you want 2.4l cars are less likely to have stres problems in the body and they are easier on the suspension. If it has been looked after they tend to be in better nick. I used to scoff at the smaller engined Jaguars untill I drove the one I now own. I have driven a 2.4 Auto Mk2 and that was too slow. Not enough power for the auto. but the M/od 240 I drove recently drove very well. regards Lachlan 2.4 Mk 1 References:
