[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Advice needed on cleaning the engine compartment of a 1983 Daimler Double Six
I am driving my 1983 Daimler Double six daily here in Hong Kong. Apart from maintaining the performance of the car I am also trying to keep it as kleen as possible. I will therefore appreciate any advice on how to easiest clean up the outer surface of my V12 engine, cooling fan, alternator etc. With extremely limited "free space" to reach with a cloth & brush I am tempted to spray de-greaser and later flush the dirt away with water. However with electrical cables in "hard to reach" places for covering in plastic I dare not do it. I have asked Jaguar Hong Kong for advice. They suggest ONLY using compressed air to blow away the dust. This does not solve the problem with the "oily dirt" which have built up over the years. Since using the car daily I do not have the time (and knowledge) to dismantle parts of the engine in order to reach "hard to reach" areas. Please any advice is welcome. Please if anyone have any advice in how to tidy up the look of all electrical cables in the engine compartment of the V12, I appreciate it. Thank you in anticipation, Peter
