Mike, your good work has helped me decide on some jag books that sounded good in the ad but...based on some past purchases, I just couldn't be sure. And thanks too for including the review of Wherry's book; it may be simple, basic, and unattractive, but it has remained on my shelf as the first Jag book I bought after getting my car in 1970. Must have been very affordable. BTW, I have been looking for your review of Skilleter's Jaguar E-Type: A Collector's Guide. Did I miss it? In any case, here's my humble contribution to your opus :-) I have some other more obscure books (see above) that I will review now that your effort is complete. Regards, Gordon Johnson ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Jaguar E-Type: A Collector's Guide Author: Paul Skilleter Publisher: Motor Racing Pub. LTD, London, 1979 ISBN: Format: Wide, hardcover, color, 128 pages, about 160 B&W photos Reviewed by Gordon Johnson Collectors guide to all types of E's. Background, design history, tech specs, competition history (with a chapter dedicated to the lightweight E-Types, all 12 of them), and buying tips. Skilleter uses a concise, spare, well-organized chronology rather than a narrative of personal recollections. He makes a good effort to document the important changes to the production line without getting into minutiae. He includes five appendices, the most useful of which is "Engineering changes - by model, date and number" broken down for fhd, ots, 2p2, rhd, and lhd. Though it's one of the smallest, his is the book I reach for first whenever a question comes up about "What year did Jaguar...."
