They are hiding somewhere in the C-pillar...< >OK, I'll stick my neck out: I don't know the S3, but the S2 has a single >carboncanister serving both tanks through complex liquid/vapour separation >plumbing inthe C pillars. The carbon canister is located in front of the >left front wheel. >-Jan Jan, Bart is not referring to the carbon cannisters, but the vapour separation cannisters which are in the c pillars. In the series 2 XJ6, the only thing in the C pillars is the piping, which uses gravity to separate the fumes and liquid, sending the liquid back to the tanks, and the fumes to the carbon cannister under the wheel arch. In the V12 version of the series 2, as per my manual, there are vapour separators, which look something like the fuel coolers in the engine bay, which sit in the c pillars and do the same job. The manual is a bit unclear on which cars had it. Either it is a V12 unique thing, or is meant for US cars. To access the vapour separators, take out the back seat, seat belts and rear parcel shelf. You can then see the plumbing under the rear screen. The vapour separators should be on the sides of the screen under the trim. (that's what it looks like in the manual anyway....maybe they put them somewhere else, like in the boot in the US..)
