Greetings all - Does it seem strange to anyone that the core plugs in a '82 SIII XJ6 cylinder head are steel, and not aluminum or brass? After removing the six 7/8" core plugs (three in plug valley and three between exhaust ports) from my cylinder head, I put a magnet up to them and discovered they are steel. I would think that there would be a galvanic corrosion issue with the steel plug and aluminum head, but it seems Jaguar didn't think so. I purchased new 7/8" steel plugs and intend to install them. Anyone have any bad experiences installing steel core plugs in the aluminum XK cylinder head? Thanks in advance for any list.wisdom. B.J. Kroppe - '82 XJ6
