For the US, S3 XJ6's where offered through 87, with the XJ40 replacing it for the 88 model year. There are some differences between the US spec 86 and 87 cars. Other markets had the S3 XJ6 replaced by the XJ40 (and maybe offered side by side in some) for the 87 model year. This is only for the six cylinder.
