Hi Julian & all Jag Lovers, I have a 1990 XJS and the correlation between the trip computer and the gas pump reading is like yours. The pump reads about 10% higher than the trip computer in my car. My gut feeling is that the accuracy of the trip computer at low fuel flows is not as good as with the fuel flows you get while traveling at highway speeds. I have only taken one trip which required traveling at speed for a complete usage of a full tank. My recollection was that the correlation was closer, but I would not bet money on it. The computer says that I have used X gallons, and the pump is always X+about 2 gallons more. The only thing I can think is that one or more of the injectors are "drooling" excess fuel. The car has about 35K miles runs fine (except a slightly rough idle), doesn't overheat, and passed exhaust emissions w/ no problems just recently. Anybody got any ideas?
