Torsion Bar Spanner

Does anyone have this tool in their tool kit? C.2585 Spanner, Box, for Torsion Bar Adjustment, 3/4" S.A.E. It is what is sometimes called a tube wrench, and was used on early XK120, Mk5, and I suspect possibly early Mk7. I would like to get a description of it, overall length, diameter of the round portion, what's on the other end from the 3/4" end, any markings, etc. - Rob Reilly

Rob, I have 2 tube wrenches in the kit that I got with my '57 140 FHC. One is 3 3/4" long with a 3/4" at one end and a 7/16" on the other end. There are 2 holes through the tube, about 1 1/4" from each end and 90 degrees opposed to each other. The other wrench is 6 1/4" long with a 13/16" at one end, nothing at the other end but a 7/16" hole. Both are a little rusty but look like they were originally black finished. I don't know if these and the vinyl tool pouch were original to my car. - Sam Bell
