Golf DoorsI remembered this weekend to look at the golf door on a XK140 DHC. This part of the car had not been restored but had been placed into storage to keep from losing it. This particular golf door had the hardura only on one side. Its a one owner car so the history is known. Seems that there were two types of coverings for the golf door. My OTS has the hardura that wraps around to both sides. I wonder if the DHCs and possibly FHCs used the single-sided version because of the extra trim from the occasional seats? - Cleo Bay XK120, XK140 Cleo, Pardon my ignorance , but what is a "Golf" door. I don't play the ancient and noble game, which may explain my question. - Thanks, Klaus Nielsen I'm also ignorant about "golf doors". Are we talking about the hardura/moquette covered door to the trunk common to the 140 and 150? - Bob Oates Klaus, The golf door is the panel behind the seat on the XK140 that folds down. This panel allows for extended access from the boot and the placement of golf clubs in the boot. I've always heard this panel referred to as the "Golf" door for this reason. I haven't played golf in years myself! I also have seen at least two different designs in the sheet metal in this area (i.e. shape of the hole and the panel support areas where the panel rests when down) Topic for a thread? - Cleo Bay XK120 XK140 Cleo, Thanks .... these cars never stop surprising me.- Klaus Nielsen
