Brake Fluid Reservoir Hose

Brake Fluid Reservoir Hose

Does anyone have a source for the hose attached to the brake fluid reservoir that feeds the master cylinder? This is for use with the usual dot 3 fluid, not silicone. I tried using ordinary black fuel line and the fluid began to attack it almost immediately. The local auto supply shop can't seem to help. - Nick Saltarelli, 1954 XX120SE OTS, 1968 E-type OTS

Nick, Kirby Palm has a piece on this in his XJS book. I believe that he recommends some type of air hose. Check his book or the archives to be sure. I'm not sure what size you need but I have had success using power steering hose without any metal braid, given to me by my local BMW dealer for use on my bimmmer. Also BMW stocks a 7mm hose specifically for brake fluid. It has a cloth braid on the outside. They gave me the PS hose when they were out of stock on the 7mm hose. - Dick White
