Radiator Removal

Radiator Removal

Also how long/hard of a job is it to remove the radiator? Any special tricks I should know.

I did mine last fall and it's not to bad.

  • Remove the hood, disconnect all the water hoses but leave the a/c hoses alone.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness that runs over the top of the radiator and lay to the driver's side.
  • Remove the fan shroud fixings but don't worry about having to pull out the shroud itself.
  • Back out the fan temp switch, it's awkward but you can wrench it a flat or two at a time.
  • Take off the top bracket over the radiator and pull the radiator straight up taking care not to gouge the fins on the condensor.
Earl's "The Best Place in Town to Take A Leak" (free bumper sticker) Radiator did a fine job for right at a hundred USD with only moderate complaint regarding how the unit was made.
