Jag-lovers
Screen Saver for Windows (32-bit)

Change History
To version V1.0.6

This Screensaver has no connection with Jaguar Cars Ltd nor is it endorsed by them. The word 'Jaguar' and the 'Leaping cat' device are the property of Jaguar Cars Ltd. All images are taken from Jaguar Car brochures for which Jaguar Cars own the original Copyright. The software is provided free and 'as-is' for your personal use and enjoyment only and Jag-lovers can take no responsibility for any problems that may ensue from using it.

This documents changes, additions and bug fixes from version 1.0.6 onwards (1.0.5 was the first public release) of the Jag-lovers Screen Saver for Windows 32-bit.

V1.0.6

  1. Added effects to total 31available
  2. Added check that current effect has finished executing before next is called. If it has not finished, then abort further change and try again at next interval. Previously could cause GPFs if started a new effect before current had finished, or an error message 'Invalid procedure call'
  3. Added screen saver Password facility and Change password via standard Windows functions
  4. Added monitor Energy Star power saving support. However, since reading files (which is how this screen saver works) defeats the energy saving feature, the best we can do is to disable file readings after the energy saving interval and load from a few previous ones stored in memory. This causes the Energy saving features to take twice as long as usual to fire up, but at least it does work eventually. We are trying to find the API call that forces the monitor into low-power mode for a later version
  5. Removed display of file paths that sometimes appeared in place of scrolling text at top
  6. Added background image capability. At each image change, the current foreground image can now be optionally swapped into the background to fill the whole screen whatever the resolution (simple resize that may distort the image)
  7. Added option to display 3D border round foreground image
  8. Added option to briefly hide foreground image between swaps when background image is present
  9. Made screen saver stop less sensitive to small mouse movements
  10. Added option to remove initial background image (when used) to stop lockups that can occur on first load with some Matrox video drivers
  11. Added desktop shortcut to start current default screen saver (using Jag-lovers heart icon)

  12. Queries please to Jag-lovers Screen Saver team.
