Interior Recommendations

Hello, Well the Jag has been repainted back to its original color, Dove Grey, and now it's time to start thinking about the interior. The interior is original (except for the seat upholstery and carpets) and in good condition (the dash and door panels especially) BUT I don't like the choice of Cinnamon against the Dove Grey. I want to go with Biscuit instead as I think that color harmonizes much better with the Dove Grey (so much for authenticity but I do have some taste!) (Note: Biscuit was a factory combination with Dove Grey so I don't feel that bad!). Question: Can anyone recommend a vendor for my purchase of interiors? I know most of the companies but am looking for the endorsements of people on this list. Thanks in advance for your responses! - Brent G. Eagling

I recommend Basset's Jaguar in Wyoming, RI. (401) 539-7218. I have not purchased anything from them but have been to the shop and trust them. I am bringing my '63 E-type OTS there this spring for some work - Scott Berry

Brent: I used Bartletts in 1990 and have been very satisfied. No pulling apart at seems or tearing. Everything seem to be fine. This is a good time of year for interior purchase. Take advantage of a big discount. Good luck. - Bob Cathey

Bob, I purchased my 140 FHC kit from Bassett in RI. Well satisfied. Regards - Klaus Nielsen

I bought a kit for my XK150 FHC from Auto Interiors of Europe (Santa Ana, CA 714-258-7322). They advertise occasionally in Hemmings. Their kits were a couple hundred dollars less than Barrett's & others I researched. I have just about finished installing the entire interior, and I found the materials to be of excellent quality, and perfect fit (although all had to be trimmed to size). The kit was absolutely complete, and the materials were all exact matches to the well-worn original pieces I was replacing. - Jag150S
