Engine enamel

Engine Enamel

I'm getting together the stuff I'll need to do some work on my XK 140,
there is a large "general interest" car show here in Las Vegas, May 1-2-3.
After that I'm changing the water pump to the one modified by Joe Curto for
me...it is the 140 pump housing fitted with an "E type" impellor that has
more vanes. It is my hope that the set-up when mated to my modified
radiator core (4 vertical tubes and 15 fins per inch) will be better able
to cope with the Nevada summer temperatures in the 100+ degree range. I
spent a full day trying to locate engine enamel that is brushed on. Every
place I tried only had spray paint. I even called Interlux, the
manufacturer I used to get it from, they said they only make it in spray
now! I am NOT into factory original....just that it be "close". Anybody
know a manufacturer that I might contact? - Thanks for any help, Barry
Goldman

Barry , There's an ad in Hemmings for engine enamels from Bill Hirsch in
Newark, NJ. They advertise quarts @ $24 and the phone is (800) 828-2061. -
Sam Bell

Thank you, Sam, I'll get a copy of Hemmings. When I moved, I let my
subscription expire, knowing that it would take months for anything to get
forwarded. Probably time to re-new anyway! - Barry Goldman
