Marc can Rooij - XK 120 FHC

Marc van Rooij - XK 120 FHC

I am looking for information on my jaguar xk 120 FHC 2+2.

This car was featuerd in the magazine jaguarworld two month ago.
At first when I bought the car it looked like a standard xk 120 fhc, with the exception that instead of the battery box there was a little seat in the back.
I knew that a lot of cars have been modified over the years by a lot of differnt coachbuilders and not noticing the difference in body I purchased the car with the idea to but the battery box back in place.

We started the restoration and soon we found out this did not have the same roof as a normal standard 120 fhc.  The quaterpanels where bigger and the space between the roof end and the start of the truck lid was much shorter. also the fillercap was not in the leght of the car but placed sideways.
When we took the car apart no weldingseams were found. I have tried to find out more info from the factory but they could not give me more info about this car.

I am trying to trace the history of this car and would very much appreciated if anybody could shed some light on the history of this car.

Chassis    679308
engine    W 4149
Body no   J1314
original colour  black
Trim colour    red
First dealer  Belgium motors
date manufacture    31 jan 1952
date dispache          19 march 1952
first registration 15  07  1953

as you can see on the photo's  the quaterpanels are longer than the standaard 120 fhc  To compair I have also e-mailed an normal fhc
I would be very greatfull if you can help to trace the history of this car.

Kind regards
