Tom Carson's 1954 XK 120 SE OTS

Here are some images of my recently acquired 1954 XK 120SE OTS, which was built in February of the year.  The car is white, has white wire wheels, and it (ahem) had a red interior.

Chassis: S674946
Engine: F20378S
Head: G13188S
Gearbox: JL221229

I bought it from fellow XK Lister David Ziglin, a delightful fanatic who lives in Mukwonago Wisconsin.  David had the brakes rebuilt using White Post components and when the head gasket failed he proceeded to have the head  rebuilt as well (and it is still off the car).  The car appears to be original and generally complete.  The odometer says something like 56,000 miles...and it may be accurate.  There is remarkably little rust on the car.  The steering box is tight, and although they are taped onto the pedals, the pedal pads have most the tread remaining.
David has owned the car about 2 years.  Before him it apparently resided in dry storage in Kansas or someplace like Kansas for 20 or 30 years.  I am embarking on an investigation to learn a bit more history of ownership.
I live in Juneau, Alaska but until late March/early April 2000 my roadster will continue to reside in David's garage.  A new friend and active Jaguar character in Seattle, Bill Young, will be going to Wisconsin as soon as winter withdraws, to haul the car back to Seattle.  He'll take it to the barge company in Seattle and insert it along with a bunch of parts into a container van and it will then make the five day journey north to Juneau.
I hope to see it here by the end of April, or early May.
