To Request a Missed or Lost Digest Transmission

I lost the download of digest #166 when AOL cut me off in mid-download. Is there a way to get it again? Is an archive of old digests accessible?

Here's what to do:

If you're unsure what the filename of the digest on the server is, send an index command to majordomo, like this:

To: majordomo@jag-lovers.org

Subject:

index xj-digest

Majordomo will return a list of files, each containing a digest. Like this:

  1. - -rw-rw---- 1 majordomodaemon 24607 Oct 20 04:36 v02.n163
  2. - -rw-rw---- 1 majordomodaemon 26973 Oct 20 23:47 v02.n164
  3. - -rw-rw---- 1 majordomodaemon 24951 Oct 22 00:24 v02.n165
  4. - -rw-rw---- 1 majordomodaemon 25583 Oct 23 04:11 v02.n166
  5. - -rw-rw---- 1 majordomodaemon 25890 Oct 24 06:26 v02.n167

The file you're looking for is called v02.n166 (XJ Digest V2 #166). Ask the Major to send it to you, like this:

To: majordomo@jag-lovers.org

Subject:

get xj-digest v02.n166

Majordomo will then send the digest to you. You can get all this explained by the Major himself by sending him the command help in the body of a message.
