Engine 3.8L

The Engine was done in South-Africa said the previus owner.He gave me a bill showing
al the work the had done on the engine.At least the head was lifted and some valves repalaced.
I saw that olso the engine mounts were replaced, and lots of parts.
Later I discoved this was not the case.
Engine mounts were torn, and a lot of parts not replaced
Adjusted the points and the timing but I could't get the enigine running better.
With higher refs it was NOK, the ignition had no centrifugal timing anymore, it was stuck due to rust. Cleaning brought it bad to working conditions, now it is OK
 
The Carburetters were leaking and I was not able so adjust them.
So getting 2 Carburettor service kits and cleaned and replaced the service parts.
 
What a difference that was, the engine was running smoothly afterall.

Encounterd some problems with the Engine later on.
Oil pressure was pretty low.
There were two problems, the pressuresensor was malfunctioning and the oil pump was damaged.
I wanted to check the oil pump ,so I removed the front suspension and the oilSump.
After removing the oilpump and checking it and I decided to replace it, it was warn quite a bit.
And Oil pressure is good now.Next was to ckeck the valves on clearance, it was OK.
