Coolant Filler Neck

The P/O had a top radiator hose that needed to be squeezed to remove the air from it, also it had a radiator filler cap in the top hose. What I have done, is to devise a system that would eliminate this problem. What I did, was to get filler neck that mounted onto the thermostat mount, and leans forward to clear the stock air cleaner housing. I found a part that did all this, but it had no place to attach the top radiator hose. The part that I found that will do all the things that I wanted, was from MOROSO auto parts. When I got the part from the speed shop I took it to a radiator shop and had it modified. A pipe was welded onto the neck so that I could mount the top radiator hose onto it. One of the side benefits is that I no longer have to bleed the radiator, this is because the top hose is higher than the radiator so that all air now goes to the filler neck .

shows the part as it comes from MOROSO parts

IF YOU HAVE A MODIFIED RADIATOR IN THE CAR AND WORRY ABOUT TWO RADIATOR CAPS. THE ANSWER IS TO MAKE THE CAP ON THE RADIATOR OF A HIGHER PRESSURE SO THAT THE ONE ON THE FILLER NECK IS THE MAIN ONE

Shows the modified filler neck mounted on the thermostat housing on the intake manifold without the top hose installed onto the neck that I added to the MOROSO part. Without the hose on it, you can see the modification that were made to the neck.

Shows it mounted on the engine with proper clearance of air cleaner housing and the top hose on it

The reason for electric fans, was that the new hose system would otherwise hit the stock fan system
